2009 Daytime Emmys – Elizabeth Hendrickson

So I know I’ll probably get tarred and feathered for this, but of all the ladies of Y&R, Elizabeth Hendrickson had my favorite Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet look. Sure, her top might be a tad bit overwhelming for her petite frame, but other than that, I love the look. In a sea of gowns and dresses, Elizabeth stands out in this belted jacket paired with shorts number. And her black satin pumps? They’re to die for. I think what wins this for me, is just how different it is. Elizabeth took a risk, and personally, I think it paid off, but I’m sure there are those who will disagree. Just like with her Y&R alter ego, Chloe Mitchell, you’ll either love it, or hate it, LOL.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Christel Khalil

Let me preface this by saying, Christel Khalil is beautiful. I’m sure most of us can agree on this, and the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards was no exception for her. Her hair was gorgeous, and so was her makeup. But please, will someone explain this dress to me? It has shoulder pads! Shoulder pads for crying out loud! Shoulder pads that I can clearly see through the fabric! I know the eighties are in right now, but damn, LOL. I think Christel looks great in this shade of blue, but my like of this dress ends there. The fit does nothing for her, and I think the style is ‘too old.’ First, this poor girl had to participate in the travesty that was that ‘fashion show‘ and now…this. But hey, maybe I’m just the one who lacks a decent fashion sense, and Christel actually looks the bomb. If you’re loving CK’s look, then you can grab her look for less at goJane.com for a mere $75. Hey, we’re in a recession y’all!
e.t.a. For those who want to see it in action:
2009 Daytime Emmys – Victoria Rowell

I think I’m getting a little teary eyed looking at Y&R’s true supercouple, Neil and Drucilla Winters. Oh wait, it’s just Victoria Rowell, and Kristoff St. John at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards. Victoria sure knows how to make an entrance. The former Y&R diva worked the red carpet in a form fitting, iridescent gold gown. Another one who opted for sleek hair, and minimal makeup, Victoria let her dress and her…smile, do all the talking. If tiic at Y&R had an ounce of sense, they’d be drafting up a contract for this woman as I type. In the words of Tim Gunn, Maria, “Make it happen!”
2009 Daytime Emmys – Michelle Stafford

The print on Michelle Stafford’s (Phyllis Newman) Daytime Emmy Awards gown may be questionable, but the fit is impeccable. I love dresses with silhouettes like this, because they’re so flattering to the female body. It cinches in and flares out, in exactly the right places, instantly giving Michelle an hour glass figure. We all know she has a body to die for, but this dress puts her in the Jessica Rabbit category, LOL. Also, love the hair and makeup– the red lips just complete the look. Black, white, and red is a color combination you can never go wrong with.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Sharon Case

Sharon Case played it safe at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards in this navy blue strapless dress with ruffle detailing. It’s a simple, and classic look that works well for Sharon, and it’s one that will never go out of style. Hey, if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it, LOL. And I’m sure she rather be called ’safe’ than ‘worst dressed.’ Her pulled back hair, and pearl necklace with matching earrings only add to her polished look.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Emily O’Brien

Emily O’Brien easily had one of the best red carpet looks amongst the younger set at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards. First, I just love the colors in her dress, and I love the material. According to We Love Soaps, Emily’s dress was designed by emerging designer, Lorena Sarbu. I think the lightweight chiffon fabric was perfect for the 100 degree weather. Also, I love how Emily kept everything else simple– hair, makeup, accessories– and just let her dress do the talking. If she came up with this look on her own, kudos to her. And if she had a stylist, it was money well spent.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Tonya Lee Williams

It’s so nice to see Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia Barber), especially since tiic at Y&R seems to have forgotten she works on their show. What kind of sense does it make that Olivia, a cancer survivor, has yet to have a scene with her cancer stricken niece? And this is why Y&R will hit 2.9s in the dailies. Oh wait, my bad, I’m supposed to be talking about red carpet fashion. I thought Tonya looked fab at the Daytime Emmy Awards in the colorful floor length dress. The fit is flattering, and the colors pop really well against her skin. The only thing is, I think she should have gone with a gold strappy heel, instead of the black shoes she wore. But hey, that’s minor.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Jeanne Cooper

Okay, so I’m not sure what kind of satin pajama set with matching fringe robe this is that Jeanne Cooper is wearing to the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards. But this fabulous lady is eighty years young, so that means she’s earned the right to wear whatever the hell she wants to. I will say this though, I heart the red toenails, and love the darker blonde hair color. As with Tatyana Ali, I think Jeanne deserves two snapz, just because, LOL.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Tatyana Ali

They say looking great is the best revenge after a breakup, and I think Tatyana Ali (Roxanne) is trying to show tiic at Y&R exactly what it is they missed out on. She languished for the longest at Y&R as Devon’s token girlfriend, but despite being let go from the show, Tatyana was all smiles on the Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet. Her floor length sequin gown perfectly shows off her toned arms and glowing skin. Personally, this dress isn’t my style, but Tatyana sure is working it. Two snapz!
2009 Daytime Emmys – Judith Chapman

I’m sure everyone thinks Stacy Haiduk had the best red carptet accesory, but I think my vote goes to Judith Chapman (Gloria Bardwell) and her church fan. See, on first glance, Stacy and Kitty are shocking, but if you’re familiar with Y&R, you kind of get the joke. Judith’s church fan, on the other hand, is truly WTF? LOL. Strangely, there’s something about Judith’s look that like. I think it’s more appropriate for the beaches of Hawaii or the Caribbean, and not the red carpet of the Daytime Emmy Awards, but hey, it’s casually fun, and you can’t really go wrong with cream.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Kate Linder

Kate Linder at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards…I just can’t…Jesus take the wheel…
2009 Daytime Emmys – Adrienne Frantz

Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore) knows what works for her. While I’m not exactly sold on the dress she wore to the Daytime Emmy Awards, I have to say that I love her overall look. Her hair is great, and her makeup is subdued. Now if only she could pass on this ‘less is more’ look to her Y&R alter ego. Gold is a nice color on Adrienne, and this beaded number reminds me of the dress she wore to the 2008 Academy Awards. Yes, Adrienne Frantz went to the Oscars. And no, I don’t have any idea why, LOL.
2009 Daytime Emmys – Stacy Haiduk

I think it’s safe to say that Stacy Haiduk (Mary Jane Benson) had the most interesting red carpet accessory at last night’s Daytime Emmy Awards. Stacy brought along her Y&R co-star, Kitty, as her date/purse. From what I understand, Kitty was actually alive at one point. So while I give Stacy mad kudos for being the most talked about celeb who walked the red carpet, homegirl better be happy PETA wasn’t around, LOL. I think this young man captures my reaction best:

But what do you think? Did Stacy have the right idea bringing Kitty on the red carpet?
2009 Daytime Emmys – Fashion Show
Someone at the crap fest that was otherwise known as the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards, thought it would be a great idea host a fashion show– and I use the term ‘fashion show’ hella loosely here– featuring some of daytime’s hottest, or not so hottest couples. I had serious second hand embarrassment for all parties involved in this foolery. And Christel Khalil…no…just…no. You can judge for yourself, but in the words of Blaine Edwards and Antoine Merriweather, “Hated It!” (two snapz for the kids)

p.s. Somewhere, Tyra Banks was backstage shaking her damn head. Why didn’t any of these hos smile with their eyes? And where is Miss J when you need him?
e.t.a. The Guiding Light tribute got cut short for a commercial break, yet this foolery was allowed to go on? And mind you, this crap came directly before a segment in the show dedicated to starving children in Africa. Directly before. Without a commercial break. End of.
e.t.a. part II. To further add insult to injury, Guiding Light didn’t even get to have a couple in this whack ass ‘fashion show.’
