Not This Again. Sony Wants Melody Thomas Scott Out.

melody-thomas-scott-2The internet is all abuzz with rumors that Sony is trying to force out Melody Thomas Scott at The Young and The Restless.  Scott went through drama filled contract negotiations over the summer, but eventually re-signed with the show.  Now ‘insiders’ are starting to talk, saying Scott’s contract was only a short term deal to coincide with Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman being written out.

Sony wants Scott either dropped to recurring, or gone entirely from the show, and Melody wants a contract.  Looks like Sony is trying to pull a “John and Marlena” at Y&R, by getting rid of all the show’s vets.  I hope those of you who are still watching are prepared for the Amber/Billy/Daniel/Chloe/Kevin/Jana/Ryder/Lily comedy hour.

    If I still watched this show, this is where I’d start pulling out the absinthe and drinking myself into oblivion. What happened to all the corporate intrigue that made Y&R the best soap on television? Can you imagine the Scoobies, the quad of pointlessness (that’s Bac/Phate for anyone keeping track) and the uselessness that is Lily & Cane trying to pull off any kind of business storyline? And they’re the future of this show? Come on.

    Not that I love Nikki or anything but instead of giving boring newbs screentime, how about working with some of the older established characters (Jill, Neil, Kay etc.) and giving them better storylines/writing.

    This is tore up from the floor up ! So they only kept my girl around to usher EB/Victor of the show ? And now they’re pulling out the recurring card again ? If I was MTS I would be livid ! They basically want to fire her and they know full well that homegirl has to much pride to have the same status as Abby. Not fair !

    I have to admit, I’m not a fan of MTS, so for me, Nikki can leave. But since she’s well liked by many others my solution in this budgetary crisis is to drop the salaries of characters who are inconsequential.

    Here’s my list — feel free to add names as you see fit!

    1) Woe Valentine (and spawn — it’s a two for one)! Lmao!
    2) Mother Valentine — well, I like Kate Linder, so she can stay! Lol!
    3) Amber
    4) Jana
    5) Sir Chancealot
    6) Victoria
    7) JT — sorry guys, as long as he’s paried with “Sleepy,” he’s useless to me.
    8) Deacon
    9) Ryder
    10) Eden
    11) Noah
    12) Abby
    13) Gloria
    14) What’s Gloria’s husband’s name?

    Think of all the $ they can save if they simply got rid of these parasitic characters. They wouldn’t have to play cat and mouse with any of the older cast and we might have a show worth watching.

    Btw, the writing team’s salaries should be dumped too. What are they getting paid for? The scooby doo gang’s art heist sl? Adam’s deceit? Bac and Phate? Lame? Where’s the business storylines? Why does everyone in the younger set have their heads up their asses? This show is lame and it’s the writers fault — beginning with MAB!

    Ah Otter1 u break my heart ! My thing is even if u don’t like Nikki u cannot deny how important she is to this canvas. Y&R is not like Days in that it has multiple supercouples. Nikki/Victor are the only true supercouple on this show and a lot of the “prestige/history” of the show would be lost because Nikki and Victor are the main characters that kept Y&R going after the Brooks/Fosters (minus Jill) were written out. But I have to pick beef w/ ur #1 pick. EH is FIYAH ! We need a young adult on this show that does not put me to sleep ! lol
