Casting News, Yvonne Zima Is ‘Daisy’

yvonne-zimaAccording to Daytime Royalty, Yvonne Zima has been cast as Daisy, Summer’s babysitter.  Her storyline supposedly involves Noah and Daniel (WTF?), but according to SOC, she has ties to Ryder.  I just have one question:  WHO THE HELL CARES?

This show wouldn’t have to slash people’s salaries, if they would just quit hiring newbies.  Again, NO ONE CARES.

p.s.  If Yvonne looks familiar to you, that’s because she’s the younger sister of Madeline Zima, ‘Grace’ on The Nanny.  Or Claire’s ‘girlfriend’ on Heroes, LOL.

Is it me or do these chicks (her & her sister) have that dead in the eyes look? LMAO

Why are they casting new people when they don’t want to pay the cast that they have? Just askin!;)

You know, that is how Tricia used to do her hair ! Lol I liked how she swung it in the air (like booya) when she turned her back on Jill and Katherine during one of her epic battles with them.

Hey Moni and DT gang, you know that tiic keep on hiring white actors in the roles and the black characters can’t even get a decent s/l when we, AA, have made Y&R number one for over twenty years and counting and we are only shown the first and the fifteenth of the month, LOL. Sony and tptb should be ashamed of themselves for dissing the AA viewership that made them a lot of money and made them number one for all these years and we can’t get a s/l for the Winters. Not the incest or Lily’s cancer s/l, that is not even on most of the week or Neil being absent on most of Lily’s treatment and I sorry, but CK isn’t bringing it in the role and VR is right that the jackasses hires mixed race women and no dark skinned woman for the roles. I hope that after EB leaves the viewers will go with him.

You’re preaching to the choir pastor, but I hear ya. Everytime I read another one of these casting announcements, I’m just left to wonder: what is the point?

Y&R has increased its women under 25 10% in the past year, and decreased its viewership over 25 8% for the same time period. Given the relative size of the >25 vs. <25, they are likely losing 5 -10 older viewers for every younger viewer they've gained. Maybe Madison Ave understands this warped value system, because I sure don't.

After Victor is off the canvas, I wouldn't be surprised if they finish off the Winters' extermination that they began last year. Lily it seems was never really a Winter; she has always been isolated from her family by this regime, and now that she is an Ashby, I doubt any of her relatives will survive the next year. I'm just waiting Mac to give birth to Lily's two babies and have them cast with Caucasian child actors.

Y&R has adapted the formula that killed every soap that died before it. To borrow from John Mayer:

      Outlandish plots…check
      Discarding of veterans…check
      Insulting your most loyal viewers…check

With the competition available on network and non-network television right now, it's no wonder folks would rather watch Judge Judy. It's cast is comparatively much more integrated, judgment is meted out more fairly across ethnic groups, and it doesn't take a year for a wronged party to see justice. I don't watch Y&R anymore, I just like to monitor the behind the scenes junk at this point. I'm just waiting for that 2.9 rating so I can open the Caymus Cabernet I've been saving.

U know to be honest w/ u the drama on Judge Judy and the like can be more original and shocking than that on soaps. Also, Judge shows are often more relateable. Regarding the casting of Daisy, whatever happened to that whole Diversity Initiative business ? All I saw were a bunch of black cops and UPS dudes for about 2 months. Thank u Moni ! Sometimes I do forget that Lily is a Winters ! She is always in her own universe and all Neil and Devon do is react to her. That used to be Dru’s M.O. what a shame b/c Lily and Dru can’t even compare. At least we got to see a glimpse of the fab that is Tatayana Ali !
