The Man Who Threw Up The Deuces And Said, “Bye, Bitches!” Eric Braeden Has Been Written out of Y&R.

eric-braeden-victor-newman

Victor Newman is leaving Genoa City y’all!  Nelson Branco is reporting that Victor is being written out of Y&R and Eric Braeden has taped his last scenes on the show.  In other words, someone is in the middle of contract negotiations.  I’m sure Victor is being ‘written out’ just like Nikki was ‘written out’ while Melody Thomas Scott was undergoing her own contract negotiations, but according to Nelson’s sources, on his last day of taping, Braeden said he may not be returning, and thanked everyone for their hard work.

Everyone and their mama knows that tiic at Y&R have been asking their actors to take pay cuts (we’re in a recession y’all!), and peeps have been eagerly waiting to see what would happen when it was The Great Victor Newman’s, err I mean, Eric Braeden’s turn on the chopping block.  According to rumors though, Braeden doesn’t have a problem taking a pay cut, but he does have a problem taking one in the middle of his contract. Yeah, I’d be a little salty about that, too.

As much as I loathe and despise Victor Newman these days, I can’t imagine Y&R without him or Eric Braeden.  We’ll see how this all plays out though.  I find it highly suspect that more news leaks about the backstage happenings at Y&R than the actual show plots.  Things that make you go hmmm…

Dru Versus Lily, Round 1- Dru

With all this Victoria Rowell versus Christel Khalil, CK is keeping VR from returning, CK quit the first time around because of VR drama going on, I thought I’d share one of my favorite Dru/Lily scenes.  FFwd to the 1 minute mark for the good stuff.

“We’re finto have a problem!”

I love that bitch, LOL.  Classic!

p.s. When I say ’round 1- Dru’ I mean in this clip. Personally I don’t give a damn what goes on behind the scenes. The show still SUCKS.

Good day.

Nikki Asks The Abbotts for Colleen’s Heart – Y&R Promo, Week of September 28th

Nicole Newman has a hell of a lot of nerve to ask the Abbotts to give Colleen’s heart to Mumbles. That’s hella bold Nicole, and I have no words. This man made the last days of this girl’s life a living hell, and the Newmans thinks he should get her heart? I. Just. Can’t. That’s enough Maria Arena Hell.

Wanna Pay $75 To Meet Some of Your Favorite Y&R Stars?

More from The “This Show Sucks A**” Files

Billy Abbott

According to the National Enquirer, the week of October 5th, Billy decides to make some life changes after Colleen’s untimely death.  HillBilly decides to leave Jabot.  To do what, you ask?  Hell if I know.  I guess he wants to spend more time in his trailer, and eat those salisbury steak frozen dinners (And before you accuse me of being elitist, let it be known that I like the Lean Cuisine salisbury steak dinner.  Oooh random, The Famous Jett Jackson is on Flash Forward.  What was I talking about again?).

If Jack is the only Abbott working at Jabot, does this mean we aren’t going back to the corporate story lines anytime soon?

p.s. What does this picture have to do with Y&R or Billy Abbott?  Nothing really.  But when you google “Billy Abbott” this is what shows up.  Somehow, I thought it was appropriately fitting.

Is Colleen Carlton Going to Die? Yes.

colleen-carlton-tammin-sursok

Is Victor going to get her heart?  Yes.

I’m sure you’re thinking, “What is the purpose of this post?”  Well, some of the most common search engine terms that leas people to A Delusionary Truth are, “Is Colleen Carlton going to die?”  “Is Victor going to get Colleen’s heart?”  “Is Tammin Sursok leaving Y&R?”  The answers to those questions are, yes, yes, and yes.  I thought I’d just put some people out of their misery.  Another question that’s often searched, “Where is Tammin Sursok going next?”  She’s going to fight killer scarecrows.  Don’t believe me?  Read about it, here.

Good day.

Are You Ready for AshDam?

eileen-davidson-michael-muhney

According to a spoiler thread at SOC (so make of it what you will), Ashley takes her ‘baby‘ and moves into the Abbott Mansion, inviting Adam to move into the pool house.  Can anyone say love connection?  I guess this means Billy has made Murphy’s trailer his permanent residence.  SMH

Lane Spoiler, per Daniel Goddard

From his Twitter (the gift that keeps on giving):

“Cane and lily continue on their road of love and trust. With a love scene soon to come….”

oh jeez.

“Give Us, Us Free!” Bryton James Tweets He Wants Off Minority Row

bryton-james

Twitter is the place to be these days for the brown actors of Y&R to express their discontent with the show.  Thank goodness for technology, otherwise we might be led to believe they enjoy being seen once a year, and like the near incestuous story lines they’re given.  Bryton James basically told Maria he wanted to be “given his free!” when he tweeted this interesting bit of info:

How about mix “us” up with the actors we have instead of bringing on new ones? I want out of our “black box”… Still happy to be working.

Hmm…seems like someone finally voiced what we’ve all been saying for months now.  I guess Bryton’s message was still too cryptic for folks, because he later had to clarify with this response:

I mean that the Winters have stories with the Winters, with the exception of Lily.

Ruh roh.  All is not right in the land of Maria and co.  I guess the only colored person currently happy with her Y&R status is Christel Khalil.  And why shouldn’t she be?  Homegirl gets paid to come to work and sit on a sofa all day.  Shouldn’t we all be so blessed, LOL.

Of course you know massah (a.k.a Maria Arena Hell) couldn’t allow her puppets to get too vocal, because this is Bryton’s latest message:

I just want to make it clear that i’m not bashing our writers with what i said earlier. I’m truly grateful for them to have me apart of Y&R. I was simply stating a frustration that’s really just about wanting Neil & I to be mixed in with more of our already established characters.

Looks like someone had a talking to.

p.s. You know Victoria Rowell couldn’t stay out of it, her response:

don’t worry you’re not box-able baby!

This drama is better than the show!  LOL

In Other News, Sharon Case Is Starring in A Hallmark Channel Movie

sharon-case-david-james-elliott

While her Y&R character is involved in one of the most idiotic stories currently on daytime (see, this post), Sharon Case has nabbed herself a starring role in Man of the House, a Hallmark Channel Original Movie.  Co-starring former JAG star, David James Elliott, Man of the House is,

about a workaholic ad agency executive who has lost his wife and is then fired from his job. He soon becomes a full-time Mr. Mom and begins to realize what he has been missing by not balancing his career and family life

Sharon will play Miss Jenson, the teacher of Mr. Mom’s son, Dylan, with whom Mr. Mom will share an instant attraction.  The movie is set to make its small screen debut on the Hallmark Channel in 2010.

Seriously Maria? This Is Good Writing?

We all called this eleventy bajillion months ago.  Adam switching Sharon’s baby with Ashley’s ‘baby’ has Sheila/Lauren written all over it.  Maria, thanks for nothing.

Malcolm Winters Back in Genoa City?

shemar-mooreAccording to Soap Opera Digest Neil’s baby brother, and Lily’s bio father, is making his way back home.  Breaking the news on their website, the soap mag is reporting that tiic at Y&R have sent out a casting call to fill the role of Malcolm Winters.  As I’m sure you all know, Malcolm was formerly played by current Criminal Minds star, Shemar Moore.  There were rumors months back that Shemar himself would briefly return to the role while Criminal Minds was on hiatus.  So much for that.  SOD is saying nuMalcolm will make his first appearance in November, and that tiic are looking for a known, established actor.  Hmm…we’ll see how this plays out.  With this regime, I have no faith.  But hopefully they’ll prove me wrong.

Tammin Sursok Joins The Cast of “Husk”

tammin-sursok-husk

Her tenure as Y&R’s Colleen Carlton may be coming to an end, but Tammin Sursok has already begun to make post Genoa City career moves.  Tammin has signed on to star in Husk, a horror film from After Dark Films.  Also starring Devon Graye (“Dexter”), CJ Thomason, and Wes Chatham, Husk is about five friends who get stranded on a deserted farm that just so happens to be inhabited by killer scarecrows.  Yeah, that’s right, killer scarecrows.  I’m sure this movie won’t be a cinematic masterpiece, but hey, it’s a step up from playing a character that ends up on ‘view click’ after flashing her goodies to an old man.  The film is being written and directed by Brett Simmons, and is based on a short film of his that was shown at Sundance, which you can watch below. Colleen Bites the Dust – Y&R Preview Clip, September 17th Episode

Okay, so I’m not sure if Colleen is really going to die, but things aren’t looking good for the young Abbott heiress.  This week (Sept 7th), she’s held hostage by crazy Mary Jane/Patty Williams.  And it looks like the following week (Sept 14th), she says her last goodbyes.  Rumor has it, Tammin Sursok, who has held the role of Colleen Carlton since she took over for Adrienne Leon in 2007, is out, and tiic aren’t recasting the role.  So either CC is off to meet her father in the big boardroom in the sky, or it’s coma-ville for her.  Check out this preview clip of Colleen’s possible demise.  Are you glad to see Colleen gone?

Blast from the Past – Have you had your soap break today?

Picture it.  CBS.  1995.  Back when the network cared about the people of color on its soaps.  Hell, back when the network cared about their soaps period.  Four men, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters), Don Diamont (Brad Carlton), and J. Eddie Peck (Cole Howard), got together for a little b-ball, and a photo shoot.  There was awful 90s fashion, awful 90s hair, cheesy dialogue of the men reminiscing about their modeling days, and a cameo from Tonya Lee Williams looking like she was fresh off the set of Little House on the Prairie.  In other words, it was the glory days of Y&R– when the Winters had a story, the Abbots weren’t all crazy, and Victor had a possible love child that was sleeping with both his daughter and ex-wife.  Take this trip with me down memory lane.  Enjoy.

Christian LeBlanc Wins Outstanding Lead Actor

christian-leblanc-emmys

I think I’m the only person here at DT who actually watched the Daytime Emmy Awards, LOL, so I thought I’d save you the misery and tell you about all the wins that Y&R picked up.  Oh, that’s right, they only took home one Emmy, and that was Christian LeBlanc for Outstanding Lead Actor.  Congrats to Christian.  Too bad your show sucks right now, but hey, maybe you can pick up another one next year for all of the lovely work you did featuring that chipmunk (please note the sarcasm).  Below is Christian’s acceptance speech, and the scene he submitted for Emmy consideration.  Enjoy. DB Awards 2009! Winners Announced.

Y&R was majorly snubbed at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards – which comes as a shock to absolutely no one – so we at DT & DST decided to “honour” Y&R ourselves with the first ever DB Awards. Thanks to your votes we awarded the best and the worst of the show we love to hate, including Best Quad, Fanwanker of the Year and Worst Storyline.

2009 Daytime Emmys – Elizabeth Hendrickson

elizabeth-hendrickson-emmys-09

So I know I’ll probably get tarred and feathered for this, but of all the ladies of Y&R, Elizabeth Hendrickson had my favorite Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet look.  Sure, her top might be a tad bit overwhelming for her petite frame, but other than that, I love the look.  In a sea of gowns and dresses, Elizabeth stands out in this belted jacket paired with shorts number.  And her black satin pumps?  They’re to die for.  I think what wins this for me, is just how different it is.  Elizabeth took a risk, and personally, I think it paid off, but I’m sure there are those who will disagree.  Just like with her Y&R alter ego, Chloe Mitchell, you’ll either love it, or hate it, LOL.

2009 Daytime Emmys – Christel Khalil

christel-khalil-daytime-emmys-09

Let me preface this by saying, Christel Khalil is beautiful.  I’m sure most of us can agree on this, and the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards was no exception for her.  Her hair was gorgeous, and so was her makeup.  But please, will someone explain this dress to me?  It has shoulder pads! Shoulder pads for crying out loud!  Shoulder pads that I can clearly see through the fabric!  I know the eighties are in right now, but damn, LOL.  I think Christel looks great in this shade of blue, but my like of this dress ends there.  The fit does nothing for her, and I think the style is ‘too old.’  First, this poor girl had to participate in the travesty that was that ‘fashion show‘ and now…this.  But hey, maybe I’m just the one who lacks a decent fashion sense, and Christel actually looks the bomb.  If you’re loving CK’s look, then you can grab her look for less at goJane.com for a mere $75.  Hey, we’re in a recession y’all!

2009 Daytime Emmys – Victoria Rowell

victoria-rowell-kristoff-st-john-daytime-emmys-09

I think I’m getting a little teary eyed looking at Y&R’s true supercouple, Neil and Drucilla Winters.  Oh wait, it’s just Victoria Rowell, and Kristoff St. John at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards.  Victoria sure knows how to make an entrance.  The former Y&R diva worked the red carpet in a form fitting, iridescent gold gown.  Another one who opted for sleek hair, and minimal makeup, Victoria let her dress and her…smile, do all the talking.  If tiic at Y&R had an ounce of sense, they’d be drafting up a contract for this woman as I type.  In the words of Tim Gunn, Maria, “Make it happen!”

2009 Daytime Emmys – Michelle Stafford

michelle-stafford-emmys-09

The print on Michelle Stafford’s (Phyllis Newman) Daytime Emmy Awards gown may be questionable, but the fit is impeccable.  I love dresses with silhouettes like this, because they’re so flattering to the female body.  It cinches in and flares out, in exactly the right places, instantly giving Michelle an hour glass figure.  We all know she has a body to die for, but this dress puts her in the Jessica Rabbit category, LOL.  Also, love the hair and makeup– the red lips just complete the look.  Black, white, and red is a color combination you can never go wrong with.

2009 Daytime Emmys – Sharon Case

sharon-case-daytime-emmys-09

Sharon Case played it safe at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards in this navy blue strapless dress with ruffle detailing.  It’s a simple, and classic look that works well for Sharon, and it’s one that will never go out of style.  Hey, if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it, LOL.  And I’m sure she rather be called ’safe’ than ‘worst dressed.’  Her pulled back hair, and pearl necklace with matching earrings only add to her polished look.
