Y&R Town Meeting Eric Braeden a No Show
According to Sara Bibel, Last Friday Sony Pictures Television President Steve Mosko called a town hall meeting to discuss the sad economic state of the union with the cast, crew and employees of Y&R, and boost morale before contract renewals where more paycuts will be required.
Despite being on set that day, Eric “I ain’t taking no stinking paycut” Braeden was a no show.

They don’t call it love in the afternoon for nothing. Today’s episode opens with dueling Cassanovas charming the pants off their willing and not so willing conquests. I can’t tell which one is classier, but we’ll leave that to the experts.

Chance, Kate and Kay are enjoying some quality time at CL. Chance/P4 tells Kay and Kate that he came back because he didn’t want to miss any more time with his loved ones. Not on that list? The smirking dad who just walked through the door. P3’s all, “Dude! Got any deets you wanna ask me over a brew?” And P4s all, “Good evening sir. I am afraid that I am otherwise engaged at the moment. Should I wish to inquire about your person, I shall converse with my mater. Good day.”
Kay takes P3 aside and explains to His Royal Cluelessness that he needs to back off right now because no one can forgive him for what he did. Her job now done, she heads off to see Lily at the hospital. P3, however, doesn’t take the hint until Chance tells him in no uncertain terms that he doesn’t know him or want to know him. P3’s all, “Chaaaa…” and peaces out. (more…)

Delusional Bitch Pick: 7/20/09
For two weeks in a row Christel Khalil has shown that she’s more than just a pretty. In an industry were looks can over shadow talent, CK proved to the critical ass who said that she was nothing more than a hair model, that she’s a good actress. For the past few months the actress has been given cheesy dialogue and has been forced to play a character, who seemed to be lacking any depth or maturity, and at times seemed to show her dislike for such drivel, by phoning in her scenes. But when given good dialogue in a craptastic s/l, CK turned crap into gold. When Lily Winters was diagnosed with Cancer, Christel gave a performance with enough emotional depth to have made a grown man cry. With a maturity that is rarely scene in the character, Lily made some hard choices and although many wouldn’t have agreed with them, most understood. It takes a good actress to not only make you feel her pain, but to understand it. Many didn’t like that Lily wanted Assby by her side, but Christel delivered in such a way that although many not care for her choice of spouse and would like nothing more than to him ran over by an eighteen wheeler, you understood why she wanted him there. And although the character my have left the hospital and went out to look for this man, when she found him she spoke like a woman who needed someone to understand, and to lean on. End the he may not have told her what she wanted to her and may not have been the ear that was needed *cough Billy cough* you knew that it was important for her to see him. In conclusion, although, I believe that this s/l was unnecessary and cruel, I am happy that the viewers of Y&R (especially the dumbass critics) got a chance to see depth of Lily Winters, portrayed so beautifully by Christel Khalil. The Battle of the Greats, Victor v. Billy
This week on Y&R, TGBA learns that Jill only hired him as CEO, because Victor forced her to. What’s this? Who told him?! Well of course it was Genoa City’s resident Conman, Ethan Assby BKA the 40 year old orphan. Billy is upset to learn that his mother trusted Assby with the information, on top of letting someone make an ass of him. It’s no secret that Jill preferred her fake son, to her real one. When Billy confronts his mother with her betrayal, this HO acts like it’s no big deal. TGBA tells her that he doesn’t want anything from that HO and, the next time she needs a dime, go talk to her real son. (Ok, I don’t know if he says that, but he’s basically done with Jill)
TGBA has more on his plate, when CC tells him that she was caught flashing her boobs, in another ridiculous s/l from Maria and the scream team. Our favorite knight in rusty armor doesn’t do many good deeds, but there is no way in hell he’s about to let TGVN put one over on his CC. TGVN wants CC off the Newman board, because she’s disgraced the company. She offers to apologize, but the sanctimonious ass isn’t having it. TGBA has had enough, so he storms into to the Newman board meeting, in front of Ashley and the other Newmanss, ready to call TGVN out on his dealings with him and CC.
I love TGBA, but TGVN isn’t anything to play with, and the Abbots never win when it comes to him. Let’s hope Maria gives us an epic battle that’s entertaining and unpredictable, but since I have no faith in Maria, I’m sure it will be the same old shiz.

You’ve got to love Amber for always playing the perfect starter skank. She’s always the first girl to try fresh meat in GC! One roll in the hay with Amber and you’re destined for greatness. Her greatest hits include Evil Ethan, The Great Billy Abbott and the hotty Professor Adrian just to name a few.
What I can’t figure out is why she’s struggling with the choice between breaking in Deacon, or being loyal to Danielle. We never said she was a smart skank.
Meanwhile back at Wife Swap: Phick Redux, Summer comes back home “conveniently” missing a few of her faculties. After Summer “mistakenly” calls Nicluless “mommy,” he vows to move back in with Summer and Phyllis. This declaration miraculously leads to a breakthrough for Summer and she suddenly “remembers” that it’s Daddy who has the beard.

We open with Billy walking up to his sad niece and giving her a hug. They go to the gift shop to get Lily some magazines, and we pan over to Neil getting off the phone with Kay. He’s going to take a leave of absence from Chancellor Industries to be with Lily during all this. Lily interrupts by telling him he doesn’t have to, but Devon tells her not to argue–what’s done is done.
Mac finds LAB at the bus station and he won’t listen to her pleas to see Lily. She finally blurts out that Lily has cancer, and he looks surprised.

We open with Adam going into the shed where MJ and Kitty are staying, bringing her a sandwich and a can of tuna for Kitty. MJ’s getting impatient; how is this getting her closer to Jack? Adam reminds her that Ashley, as in Jack’s sister Ashley, is living up at the ranch. She’s stopped working at Jabot because she’s too fragile, so if she were ever to break Jack would be there, and he lures MJ in with the image of her being right by his side. MJ decides to marinate on that for a minute.

Today’s episode opens with Fillip and Phillip discussing the fallout of their scam. While Phillip looks like a new man, Fillip seems to have come down with a case of the “stank face.”
After being dumped by all of his loved ones, sucker-punched by his fake brother and mocked by the real P3, Cane is devastated to lose one more prized possession…and hits rock bottom, when even Mac seems resistant to his charms.

You Are NOT a Chancellor, But He Is
Ethan just got outed as the fraud he is and surprise, surprise it is every one’s fault except his. He was all up in Kay’s face when she was in the hospital and Jill’s face when she was with Kay at the hospital asking for forgiveness. I can understand that Ethan may be sorry for what he has done but dude needs to be more considerate of the feelings of those he deceived and take some responsibility for his actions. I cannot believe that Ethan got all up in the P3’s face talking about he took his life or some nonsense like that. However, that is not the most arrogant Ethan move. Get this, Ethan blames Fily for his actions. He married Kate and pretended to be the father of Baby D all for Fily. So Ethan broke Fily’s heart because she made him do it. Now that’s love. Fily did manage to give the ring back, but I am not sure how long Fily will be able to stay away. Fily does love to get crapped on by Ethan. Although I don’t endorse physical violence, Neil and Billy get a slow clap for laying hands on Ethan. (more…)
Y&R Ratings June 22-July 3, 2009
Y&R viewers and share of households increased for the week ending July 3, 2009. Y&R added an average of 80,000 viewers for the week staying around the 5 million mark, which increased the percent of households from 3.5 to 3.6. This is the second consecutive week where ratings have increased.
For the week ending June 26, Y&R featured a number of key storylines, including the Fake Art, Gaslighting Ashley and The Real Phillip Chancellor. Tuesday’s episode was pre-empted for a Presidential address, which did not count towards the ratings. The first appearance of Michael Muhney as the new Adam Newman, and the same sex pairing of Rafe and Adam was also featured. (more…)

This week was the conclusion of the reveal of Phillip Chancellor 3rd, who was and legally still is, married to, Nina Webster, played by Tricia Cast. Rumors floated around that when Tricia Cast signed back on, that her character will not be here to stay in Genoa City. Which is truly sad because I cannot help but to enjoy her performance in this storyline. Since Nina has arrived back in Genoa City, she has been on a non-stop ride full of emotions to find out whether or not her scheming and seduction methods years ago (YES I said it!) to get a Chancellor heir was all for nothing! Well, she proved herself to be correct, something was ALL WRONG with the Cane is the real “Phillip Chancellor” and was switched at birth story. Last week it was revealed that Cane was not Jill’s son, but the real Phillip Chancellor IS and he is alive and well! (more…)

We open up to Taxidermy Kitty & MJ having a little powwow.
Over at the hospital, Red, Niclueless, Noah and Daniel are discussing the fact that Nick & Red aren’t allowed into Summer’s room because Red’s under investigation for hurting Summer. Noah’s like, “Who would say that about you?” Enter Sharin, stage left.
Red walks away but Daniel has her back. He tells Sharin that someone accused Red of hurting Summer and the way he’s looking at her, tells us he already has his suspect. Sharin emotionlessly tells them that she’s sorry about it and asks if she can help and Red’s all, “Seeing the back of you would help a lot.”
