For the week ending June 19, 2009, Y&R held at its all time low rating of 3.4 share of households and was relatively flat losing 5,000 viewers vs. the prior week.
The episodes airing this week featured the following storylines on a day to day basis…
Monday: 3.5/4,904,000 – Chloe sends Raul to interrupt Billy and Mac who are about make love at Jimmy’s bar. Phyllis recommends MJ as a love interest to Jack who says she’s just a fling. Adam’s doctor meets Victor and Olivia.
Tuesday: 3.4/4,706,000 – Devon fantasizes about Tyra. Neil suggests Jill for Chancellor. Adam is caught by Victor and Ashley listening to a recording of Sabrina’s voice on his computer. Cane complains to Kay about Nina’s questions.
Wednesday: 3.4/4,776,000 – After getting caught, Adam fools Victor and Ashley and then frames Estella. Nina tells Kay and Jill why she wants to exhume Phillip’s body. Mac gives Raul his ring back.
Thursday: 3.4/4,626,000 – MJ overhears Jack saying their fling is nothing serious. Jana and Daniel are arrested. Lily questions what is wrong with Cane.
Friday: 3.5/4,831,000 – Nina finds Phillip’s casket empty. Lily figures out Cane is upset about the exhumation. Nikki asks Ashley and Victor to think twice about blaming Estella for the gaslighting.
There was no apparent trend break in the ratings due to the switch to digital. According to Nielsen, in the first week after the digital switch, an additional 500,000 families became ready to receive digital signals on their televisions.
