Y&R Mid-Summer Bitchulation
I speculate that some critics will still praise MAB in spite of so many sad and bad storylines. I speculate that MAB will continue to believe that this is good writing, due to the unwarranted praise. I speculate that the ratings will continue to fall over the summer, because people will get tired of having their intelligence tested. I speculate that because of the press, MAB won’t get a clue and realize that they do NOT speak for everyone! I speculate that Kate’s screen time will not decrease, because once again, so called critics think that this Ish is good and are too self involved to realize that many of US are sick of seeing that Ho. I speculate that like the character, Elizabeth Hendrickson will continue to get praise that is very much undeserved. I speculate that Billy Miller will continue to have to hold up scenes, because both of his leading ladies are sadly lacking. I speculate that the Christel Khalil will continue to be held hostage by the “best” couple on Y&R and that is only because the others are SOOO bad!! It’s really sad that one of the most popular couples on this show, has dialogue suitable for Sesame Street! (I will take MJ and Kitty over the ridiculousness of Fethan ANY DAY!!)
I speculate that failed storylines will continue to be pushed onto US, because of backstage politics. I speculate that the females on this show will continue to be shown as examples of how a woman should NOT be!!! I speculate that Papa Roach will continue to throw craptastic storylines the Winters’ way!! Well, let’s not include Lily in that, she will actually be on the fringes of a new storyline and is rumored to actually be getting one that revolves around her. I speculate that if MAB wants to save Fethan, she will use Lily to do it, and further Fily’s (AND yes, I said FILY get OVER IT) screen time. I speculate that many will be happy with this while some of US will probably just stop watching. Unfortunately, I won’t be included, because I have responsibilities to DT, but will DVR off Soapnet, so Y&R will NOT get my ratings for this BS. I speculate that I will probably just stop watching the show all together, and do my weekly wraps based on DT recaps. I speculate that MAB will not throw EE under the bus as she should, but let him continue to be the WAB (Read: Weak Ass Bastard) that he is. I speculate that while many are excited about the P3 storyline, many wish that MAB would just leave things alone. I speculate that no matter what dastardly deeds EE may or may not have done, many will still burrow deeper in the sand. I speculate that this WTD s/l will go downhill, because some people are tired watching women act STUPID over a Dumbass-UnWorthy-Sad-Excuse of a man.
I speculate that the Scooby Gang will continue to bring ratings down, because people just don’t care about them and read this MAB “THEY ARE NOT TEENAGERS”!!! I speculate that MG is probably chanting the famous quote “We’re in a recession, we’re in a recession.” I speculate that this gay s/l will be a hit, but only if is done correctly and with care. I speculate that characters will continually be destroyed, in order to make others look better. I speculate that MJ will continue to be a bright shiny beacon of hope for many of us. I speculate that some will like this blog, while others will not. I speculate that if you have read any of my previous entries then you will know that IDC!!

Ash…you crack me up! I think you may just be right about ALL of these speculations!
I don't know why you are so down on the Cane character. I think Billy is so much more pathetic and besides I don't like men with big tits. Billy looks good and so does Cane, but I like a nice tight body like Canes.
And besides that he is Lily's man and I support all things that are Lily. The TPTB are never going to give you what you want, so if they can write a decent storyline for my girl, I will be happy, thats what I'm fighting for. Forget Billy and Lilly that may never happen, but Lily and Cane are the here and now.
Don't you just hate calling people you like out of thier name, even if they are a soap character.
I can't stand Chloe or Troll as some call her but I don't hate her either. She is just pathetic like Billy Abbot.
I think you are doing a good thing if you stop watching, otherwise you might pop a vein.

I too hope that the writing gets better and that the s/ls get more interesting.
Mary Jane and the Jill/Kay/Nina interaction is the only thing that keeps me interested. Oh, and I guess I want to see that happens to Adam and how Ash reacts to learning that she lost her baby.

Things MAB should give up this summer:
1. Chloe/EH pimping
2. 30 year old teenagers
3. Ethnic segragation on Y&R
4. Thinking first of Emmys and then of good soap writing
5. Writing Sesame street for Lane. If you hate them just break them up, it's better for everyone including Lane fans.
6. Allowing dead weight to drag your best characters down.
7. Listening to NB and DC blowing smoke up your azz.

I agreed with pretty much everything that was written, with the exception of EH and her character Chloe, I like her, but no big deal!! I've read a lot of different bloggers and it seems that nobody is happy with the writing these days except maybe Barbara Bloom and CBS, why is it everyone can recognize that this soap is really bad, but the main stream media who continue to bust their arms patting MAB on the back? sickening!!!
I also agree with almost every thing that you said, except for Chole she is one of the new characters that I like. WHY is the soap press marching in MAB's parade? She has done more to destroy the history, and characters, than LML ever did. Doesn't MAB realize the reason that Bill Bell was great is because he changed with the times. He was great because he was creative and the only stories that he was telling was his and they were so good that every other soap writer started to tell his stories.
If MAB wants to be a hack writer then let her go and write for Heidi and Spencer. If she wants to try and be a real writer then she should learn how to tell a story, and that means having a beginning, middle and end.

Ash, you couldn’t been more on point with the state of Y&R. It is bad with a capital B and the show is not getting any better. MAB, Roach, Slammer and Heffer have decimated Y&R for the worst and they make LML look like Oscar winner writers.
