Y&R Recap. Tuesday, May 19th 2009

We open up to Murphy giving the newly married couple a toast. He’s telling them that they probably didn’t think this day would come but here they are. The fact that they’re married shows that true love will always find a way … Murphy, sweetie, you don’t really know them like that. Zip it.

Over on “Touched By An Angel”, Tess is assigned Devon Hamilton Winters, a young man just discovering the truth about his family. Tyred it seems was actually taken in by Devon’s grandmother; she isn’t related to Devon or Ana at all.

While Devon is finally getting a storyline, Liam is busy staring at nuMac. Kay comes up to him asking him for that charming smile of his. He bares his teeth like he’s about to take a bite right out of her shoulder and she tells him he’ll have to do better than that if he’s going to fool her. She asks what’s wrong and he tells her it’s nuMac. Every time she’s around, Liam puts his foot in his mouth. No Liam – it’s not her. You’re just an idiot. Kay tells him that he’s still chasing the ship that is nuMac and lugging around an anchor named Kate.

Mikey and … who is that woman? Lara? Laura? … Lauren! That’s it. Lauren and Michael are having a cosy dinner date at the GCAC. He’s on the phone, worrying about Glo & TI-Bardwell (read: That Idiot), who he fears are getting in trouble as they speak. Lauren’s all, “This is the most screen time I’ve gotten in a month. Put the phone down or I will cut you.”

She says it’s time for them to concentrate on each other not Mikey’s criminal family. They talk about finally taking their Monte Carlo trip together and she tells him that she has special brownies – is that what we’re calling it now? – waiting for him in the hotel room she’s booked for the night. They continue their date night upstairs.

Meanwhile, NuMac is telling Clyde & Jana that Liam was way out of line with what he said to Kevin. Jana’s all, “I have killed before and I’ll kill again.” Kevin asks nuMac what she ever saw in Liam and nuMac is all, “I don’t think I need to take advice from two ex-cons but you might be on to something.”

Over on the other side of the room Jill is freaking out, as she is wont to do, about Kay’s biopic. She thinks it’s a terrible idea but according to Nina, plenty of studios are interested in the project. Jill tells them that she’s going to stop them but they all laugh in her face. Poor Orphan Jilly, her sense of humour seems to have disappeared with her bank account.

Tyred and Neil are flirting on the dance floor being more annoying than usual if that‘s even possible.
Neil: Girl, your feet must be tired, cause you’ve been running through my mind.
Tyred: Oooh. You sure know how to talk to a woman!
Neil: There’s so much about you I don’t know and I can’t wait to find out in bed — I mean…
Tyred: Ooooh. You’re about to turn my little head.

Devon is dancing with Roxy, giving them the stink eye. Neil is all, “I don’t need my son’s permission to get it on! Damn. It’s not like I was sleeping with you when I was married or anything … Or uh …”

Daniel and Fily are chatting about Fily’s possible new career in interior designing if the bartending, modelling, and baby making doesn’t work out. Danny tells her that she’d be great at it because she’s creative, has good taste and is good with people. She asks him, if she’s so awesome, why did he let her get away?

He’s all, “I stopped liking chicks for a second there but call me if this marriage doesn’t work out.” But as things are now, things have turned out well for both of them and they wish each other the best. They smile and hug each other sweetly while Bonnie watches them and whines to Kate about always being a bridesmaid and never being a bride. Danny doesn’t want to get married right now but Kate’s like, “Umm, like that’s ever stopped you before.”

Jill and Liam have a heart to heart. Liam wants to know what’s going on with her. She tells him that she’s broke because she was stupid enough to put all her money in one bank. He tells her that he’ll help her out. He has money of his own and even though she frequently treats him like crap, he has her back.

Later the brothers and their wives meet up and Fillip asks Liam if anything is up with their
mom. Kate says something is always up with Jill but the others ignore her. Fillip thanks Liam for coming, Liam thanks Fillip for all the free booze and they pretend as if this will be a new beginning for them all. Like when they all made up at the courthouse and then talked smack about each other literally the next day.

Kate apologizes to Fillip and his lady for screwing up their holy union, while Liam looks around awkwardly. Fily coos at Fillip that everything turned out well and they rush out only stopping so that Fily can throw her bouquet. Amber practically pushes nuMac out of the way to catch the flowers – why are the only one’s on the dance floor? – and Kate whoops her girl on obnoxiously when she does.

Jana tells Amber that she’s the next one to get married now that she’s caught the bouquet and Danny’s like, “I hope you have someone else on the side cause it ain’t gonna be me.” He tells her that if it’s not broken don’t fix it and Amber starts to plot – perhaps kidnapping would work this time around.

Ana, who is thankfully not singing, Roxy and Dev are decorating the house where the 70s died, trying to make it less Partridge-y. Roxy sees that he’s concerned about something and he tells her that Tyred & Neil are acting like two kids in heat.

Back at the reception, Liam apologizes to nuMac about Kevin. His apology: “I’m a jerk, right? I mess up. So umm, do you forgive me?” With apologies like that who needs Hallmark? She gives him the response he deserves and leaves while Kate watches her sorry excuse for a husband.

Shut down by nuMac, Liam tries his hand at apology number two. But as he opens up his mouth to apologize to Kevin, Jana gets her bitch on. Why Kevin is decent! Compassionate! The perfect man on earth! Okay Jana, let’s not get carried away here. Kevin’s all, “I can fight my own battles, J, but that was awesome.”

Over at the studio of artZiness, Amber is telling Daniel that she wants to get married; she wants to have little Romalotti’s running around but Daniel, unlike his ex Fily, is a little more wary of jumping into marriage a second time. They have their careers. They have so much time. But Amber wants to know what’s what. She doesn’t want to waste her time if this isn’t going anywhere. Daniel’s all, “There’s the door. Use it if you want.”

Devon visits Tess at the GCAC. She tells him about his mother and how she wasn’t always the irresponsible, degenerate she is now. She had a beautiful voice and that’s where Ana and Dev got their talent. She also has a letter for him that Yolanda wrote to his father. And in the letter, Devon discovers that his father doesn’t know that he even exists. This is starting to get very Crossroads. If Devon buys a convertible and takes a road trip with Roxy and Ana to discover himself … well, actually, I’d say take Tyred instead of Roxanne and leave them somewhere in the desert, Dev.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Nina talks about P3 and how she still can’t really grasp that he’s gone and having Fillip there taking his place is so very, very strange. Very, very…
